Socktober: Oct. 1- 26

10/01/18 10:43 AM - 10/26/18 10:44 AM

Three members of the Mvskoke Nation Youth Council, Charles Mason, Laura Mason and Tafv Sanders will host Socktober from Oct. 1 – 26.   Socktober is a national initiative to collect NEW socks and other essential supplies for the homeless.  This is the 4th year for MNYC members to host this project and they have a goal of collecting 500 pairs of socks.

Donations can be dropped off on the Tribal Complex at the Community and Human Services office (across from the Gift Shop) or at the Youth Services office located at 112 E. 6th St. 74447 Okmulgee, OK.

If your program (or a young person that you know) would like to set up a collection box at your office, school, church, community or other location all you need to do is get permission from the location, set up a box or container and print the attached Socktober 2018-Drop Off Site flyer.

Contact Nancy Mason at 918-549-2558 or nmason@mcn-nsn.gov to register your drop off site and learn about local homeless services that can benefit from your efforts.
